Straight answers about safety, privacy and how The One Dating works.
- Who can join The One Dating?
- Adults only. You must be 18 or older, and onboarding will not create a dating profile for anyone younger.
- Can people browse my profile without an account?
- No. Profiles, search and the deck are only visible to signed-in members. Search engines are told not to index the app.
- Who can message me?
- People you match with. Nobody else can start a conversation unless you allow it: you decide whether followers and subscribers may message you, with a separate switch for each. Messages from people you let in, but have not answered yet, wait in your Requests folder.
- Can I stop people sending photos and videos?
- Yes. A switch in messaging settings turns images and videos on or off, so conversations can stay text only until you are comfortable.
- How is my location protected?
- Other members never see your exact position. Your location is shown as a rounded area, and distances are rounded up to whole kilometres with a minimum of 2 km, so nobody can work out where you are by moving around you. You can also hide your location completely.
- What happens to my sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion?
- They are special-category data under the GDPR, so they are only used with your explicit consent, which onboarding asks for. You can hide each one from your profile separately in Settings. Hiding them can make matching less accurate, and we tell you that before you switch them off.
- How do I report or block someone?
- Open the profile or conversation and choose Report or Block. You can report a single message, a whole conversation, a post or a profile. A report goes to a person on our safety team, and the message stays available to them as evidence even if the sender unsends it.
- What does blocking do?
- The person can no longer see you or message you in Dating, and you no longer see them. Your blocked list shows only the dating profile you blocked, never their profiles in other parts of The One.
- Are there group chats?
- Yes, for Gold members and above, with up to 10 people. The person who creates the group must be Gold or higher; the people they add can be on any plan.
- Can I host events and sell tickets?
- Gold members and above can host. Ticket prices are capped by plan: up to $25 on Gold, $50 on Diamond, $100 on Ambassador, and no cap on Elite.
- Can I change my plan while I have an event coming up?
- Not while tickets are sold for an event that has not finished yet. Cancel the event first, which refunds every ticket automatically, or wait until it is over and then change your plan.
- When does The One Dating launch?
- January 1, 2027. Pre-register now to be among the first members in your city.
